A year ago my daughter who goes to FUS visited the grave of St. Pio. She got to kiss it and touched holy article for our family there. I had known of Padre Pio years ago when Father Restrepo came to speak of Medgigore at my house and left me a paper on Padre Pio. He said the man will be a saint. Years later, my father George, was striken with cancer and put in a Catholic hospice. At the time, my father began watching EWTN because they had the Mass and he and I noticed the beatification process televised on the network. Dad and I followed all about Padre Pio and how he loved watching the holy Mass! Anyway, the day he was beatified, I hung the picture as it was at the vatican that I got from the local Catholic Newpaper. How he loved it and I did too. I too, often felt a very tall presence and a short presence behind my dad's bed many a night after I annointed him with holyoil and holy water. We prayed together so much and I so treasured that time with him. Anyway, I often would say out loud quietly as Dad slumbered between pain, "Blessed Pio and Mother Theresa" please take care of my poor and suffering father. This was such peace and comfort! I know he was there even when Dad passed away.
When Amanda returned from Europe, she brought me a Padre Pio statue which stands near Jesus and the Blessed Virgin. Since then, I have visited the St. Pio shrine in Barto PA and the outdoor St. Pio shrine on RTE 40 toward Buena, not far from Atlantic City. It is something about this saint that draws you near him and Mary and JESUS.
Just 2 weeks after the visit where I prayed for a special intention for a friend....it was answered! For 2 years we prayed and then it happened very suddenly.
Truly a miracle.
Please pray for me to ST. Pio as my daughter has done more for God than I could have at her age. She is a LIGHT and God is using her for great things. I pray to ST. Pio that he lead our children to him to Mary and Jesus.
I especially pray for Jen and Luke. I pray they go to Franciscan University like their sister as it is full of truth and Catholicism.
Keep up with this site. It is wonderful
God bless you all.
