I did a search on Saint Padre Pio and ended up clicking on the forum.
I am a "recent" convert from Southern Baptist to Catholicism (3 years now). Reading about Padre Pio inspired me to research the Catholic Faith. And praying to him too!! :)
I attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (Traditional Latin Mass or Tridentine Mass) at Society of Saint Pius X chapels now. This was the only mass that Saint Padre Pio offered as I have learned. Do you guys think Padre Pio would be outraged about the many abuses and changes that are found in most Churches around the world today?
For one thing, I know he would kick out all these women who aren't wearing the proper clothing! haha. I just had to find a Mass where everything was like it was in his day. The crazy music, the talking going on everywhere in the pews, the lack of rebuke by the supposed Shepherds/Priests of those who are offending our Lord in the blessed Sacrament. How could I ever raise my three boys up to be good Catholics in this environment?
Doesn't it spark your interest that the Altars where all torn down (removed from the wall), and the Church totally relaxed and modernized after Padre Pio passed away? Do you think Padre Pio could have been obedient to his Superior if they moved the Tabernacle from the center and placed it in a side room? Do you think he would have stopped teaching the dogma of "No Salvation Outside the Catholic Church" to his spiritual children, and then told them that they could be Jews and still have a valid relationship with God, and that it's OK not to accept Jesus Christ? (This is what the Vatican and the American Bishops are telling us now)
Where is Catholic Obedience today? Are we to remain obedient, even when the Vatican teaches us heresy?
Always a Saint Padre Pio Child,
Ben
