Ok I feel SOOOOOOO weird. Classes begin on the 17th but tomorrow I have to move back into the dorms. Then on the 3rd I begin a two week training process for my job as the new WATCH Intern. (WATCH Patrol is the student residence hall security crew and I was promoted to Intern which is pretty much head cheese in charge) I am excited and nervous and scared of new responsibilites but I will make it through.

I plan to decorate my bulletin board with plenty of Nu Sigma Rho stuff in the hope of drawing more interest. Later on if any of you think you might be interested in applying, and I'm almost certain you'll be welcome among our ranks, please do! There will be a lot more about the organization up in the near future.

Shauna you taught yourself pointe?! You GO girl! I have always wanted to do that and it's still on my list.

And since everyone is doing a bit of introduction, I will share a bit about my background as well...

I was born in California to my father, a struggling photographer, and my mother, a nurse on Friday, December 4 in the hour of the Dragon (8:05 am). When I was born I let out the loudest wail anyone had ever heard then I fell right asleep, leading the doctor to believe I was dead. All of the babies in the nursery were crying their eyes out but I was sound asleep. To this day I like to sleep in, especially on Friday mornings.

After two days of being home with my parents they laid me before my grandmother's feet and proclaimed "Please take her! We can't do this after all." And from that day I lived with my grandparents and two aunts. My mother would come to leave my father and live there as well. It was not a stable home. There was lots of yelling and not much money to go around but we managed. It was the kind of home everyone says will turn a child into a delinquent but it never happened.

I always loved pageants even though my family doesn't. They told me it was just a phase but it's still going strong. I will always be an advocate for the positive side of pageantry. So I understand as many others do that there's just something about a crown that acts as a key to another world, a better world. I hope to one day take Miss Sparkle America live and when that happens you best believe it's going to be something special : )

I think growning up an only child in a home like mine where religion can turn against you, it really gave me the chance to do a lot of soul searching and gave me a strong desire to learn about the world around me and to reach out to others, especially those like yourselves who shine unto the world as a beacon of hope for the future. So if I really have anything to say it's thanks. Thanks for keeping me sane. Thanks for giving me something to do. Thanks for standing up against those who seek to destroy that which has really blossomed into something special. Pageantry is special...and I plan to work to preserve the best of it for as long as time will allow.

This post is already getting long and I have a call coming in so I will make another one soon...very soon. Love you guys.
