THE LEGEND.
Poems, songs, and stories have been written about great people throughout history, and as time goes on their legacy grows. We all listen to these stories with interest and wish we could have been there to witness it first hand. And then we all met a man called COWPER, an inspiration, an individual, and a bloody good bloke. We recall with fondness the time in Brisbane when he had us all in stitches when he went head to head with the Townsville Coach, or the time during games when the opposition would tremble when I would call Pat off for a sub. How about the time during warm ups when COWPER decided to dunk, landing flat bang on his arse. He jumped up and ran back to his position as if he had planned the whole thing. But as we all got to know that was COWPER. Full of energy, positivity, and always looking for ways to have fun. Never a serious moment couldn't be broken by a one liner from COWPER. Yeh, I'm grieving his loss, but more importantly I'm celebrating the fact that I got to spend some time with this fella. You see, for once in my lifetime I got to witness a legend in the making, and I intend to spread the word and tell the stories, but unlike the fictional legends, this one doesn't have to be made any bigger. James COWPER was and will always be a legend. I want to thank his family for giving us James COWPER and allowing us some good times with him. You should be proud of him as I know you are. To the Under 18 Boys, Pat, Kris, Richard, Rory, Craig, Steven, David, Shea, Joseph, Sam, and Boe, keep your heads up, be strong, and don't stop living. We all shared something special and we will never forget him. Spread the word and keep the legend alive.
