I haven't actually been selected, I've been invited to attend as a coach at the All Australian Junior Basketball Camp, at the Australian Institute of Sport, CANBERRA, during Junary 2003. From throughout Australia there are 8 x State Coaches and 8 x ITCP Coaches invited to attend with some 56 athletes, selected during the Under 18 and 16 national Championships. The last coach from the Cairns area to be given this opportunity was Mark BEECROFT, some 4 years ago when he was invited after coaching the Under 16 N/Qld State Boys team to fourth spot. It is a great opportunity to work with some of the best junior basketballers from throughout Australia and to learn more about what is required to get to the National Level. It is run by the Australian ITC program and managed by Patrick HUNT, Head Coach of the Basketball ITCP Australia. I don't know too much about the selection process, other then I didn't have to make and application for the position. I believe you are nominated by your state body.
