As everyone now knows I am leaving Cairns to become Officer in Charge of Mingela, 47 km out of Charters Towers and 87 km from Townsville (not Mt Isa as reported). The decision to leave was an extremely difficult one to make, especially considering where Mulgrave were travelling. I don't want to leave but my desire to see more of my boys (Jordy and Dillion) has made it necessary. Over the past 22 yrs I have been involved in many associations, including professional associations in Adelaide, and never have I experienced the dedication and professionalism like that at Mulgrave. This association continually produces talented juniors, without paying anyone, or sponsorship support. When you add up what the association has achieved you can see tangibly that it is committed to the development of juniors without any prejudice or personal agenda. The commitment to its members is second to none. I will always have a soft spot for Mulgrave and when I return to Cairns, hope to find the club still around so that I can take up where I will leave it. To the many hard working members, I wish you all the best and will always make myself available to you when I come up here every now and then. Again, thank you for your friendship over the past four years and all the best in the future.
