So one of our Federal Senators got booted out of Malaysia after being labelled "A threat to National Security"?
Poor Nick Xenaphon who is a non-aligned Independant Senator who neither belongs to the Government or Opposition Party has been 'unwelcomed' to a friendly ally of Australia.

Because of his expulsion, the other 3 Parliamentarians (of the 3 major Australian political parties) who were going over to Malaysia to keep an eye over the coming National elections have also cancelled their trip.

Ironically, most Australians and overseas countries would not normally give a hoot about Malaysian politics (or their elections).
However, due to the quite momentous decision to ban an Australian politician from visiting a fellow Commonwealth country - the publicity generated drew quite a bit of condemnation and worried many other nations about the democratic processes of the present Government in Malaysia.

Whichever Malaysian Minister dreamt up of this incongruos tactic has stirred up a hornet's nest and brought Malaysian politics into disrepute in World news.
It is a sad state of affairs that this has happend so close to April 2013.
