Captain, Wizard et al,

It is good that you folks are continuing with your passion -- of writing and sharing. Good luck and enjoy.

Reflecting on my experience, my reason for writing was motivated by wanting to share my little found knowledge, in this case, Chinese Heritage research, in particular, Clan genealogy related. Wheh I started to walk down the road of writing, it was tough going, as there were so much to explore and reasearch. In HSK days, History was never my subject of choice -- science and geography were. Added to this, my knowledge of Chinese was and still is, very limited. That did not stop me, as I found it is quite enjoyable to learn new things, to find new or rather very old things in the library, Public Record Offices. The journey took me to San Francisco, parts of China, my ancestral village, my Clan Hall in China, and many of my blood relatives. To top it all, I became (and still is) an officer of my Clan Association in San Francisco. It's an honour and distinction I cannot refuse. I was compelled to writ it down, and to offer fellow researches any help.

In Australia, publishing is easy, if you are willing to foot the cost. That we did, instead of asking others. Hang the costs as I now know we can't take it with us when we are ready to go, willingly or not (somewhere interesting, I think.)

The self satisfaction of seeing ones book is priceless.

So folks finish your project.

Regards, LG
