It is bewildering that the search started in the South China Sea and has moved to the Andaman Sea and also the Straits of Malacca.

Does Malaysia have an effective radar and therefore Air Control system to monitor flights in, around and out of Malaysian air space?
It appears that a plane (big one at that) can move freely around the peninsula and not get tracked or even picked up by Air Control or military radar.
There is of course another 'unconfirmed' report with no conclusion that military radar "noticed" a plane being off track.

After this most unfortunate and sad incident, there probably should be an investigation into the Air Defence capabilities of controlling Malaysian air space.
I think it has gone beyond a joke that a plane can enter or re-enter Malaysian air space at will. - and not get picked up.
What do you think?
