Double Deckers on Video -- Gary Perkins, 14:30:26 11/06/02 Wed

I wonder if any kind person out there would be able and willing to help me. Foolishly, a month or two back, I introduced my two young children to the Double Deckers. As you might imagine, they absolutely loved it. So what it the problem you ask. Well, my problem is this. I only have two episodes, and they are on continuous rotation from morning till' night. Even for a fan of this classic show like myself, this can be a tad irritating!

To save me from madness, I wonder if anyone would be prepared to trade any copies of different episodes. The two episodes that I have are ‘Get a Movie on' and ‘Star Struck'. Alternatively, there might be other stuff that you would like to trade - I am really open to any offers. If you might be able to help, please contact me on perkins@perkinsg.freeserve.co.uk.

The Magnificent 6 1/2 on DVD!!!!!!! -- Kevin Hughes, 19:57:06 10/03/02 Thu

Network have just released a four volume DVD set of "The Best Of The Children's Film Foundation". I received Volume
Two in the mail this evening and was delighted to see two
episodes of "The Magnificent 6 1/2" included as extras. Very similar to "The Double Deckers", it was definately a forerunner to the show. I hope the other three volumes contain an additional six episodes. Does this mean that Network could possibly be securing the rights to finally releasing The Double Deckers on video and DVD sometime soon?
Does anyone have anymore info?

The episodes on Volume One are:
. Ghosts and Ghoulies
. Kon-Tiki Kids

The episodes on Volume Two are:
. Bob A Job
. Peewee's Pianola

Volume's Three and Four are not due to be released until
October 21st - so I won't know the remaining four episode titles until I receive them from Blackstar. Neither Network
nor Blackstar have any listings on their sites for the "special features" material.

Network have just updated their website with listings of all eight episodes of The Magnificent 6 1/2 available as "special features" on The Best Of The Children's Film Foundation four volume DVD set. So here goes the complete list as follows:

Volume One episodes:

Volume Two episodes:
. Bob A Job
. Peewee's Pianola

Volume Three episodes:
. A Good Deed In Time
. The Astronoughts

Volume Four episodes:
. It's Not Cricket
. Peewee Had A Little Ape

These episodes are ONLY available on the DVD versions. The
videos DO NOT contain any "special features". Anyone who loved The Double Deckers will surely find these adventures just as enjoyable - I know I did! I can't wait for Volumes
Three and Four to be released on October 31st. Go to www.blackstar.co.uk and save £1.00 off the RRP of each DVD -
priced at a very reasonable £8.99 - well worth the investment!

There are actually 18 episodes of The Magnificent Six And A Half which were made between 1967 and 1971, and the first 6 episodes were later edited together to make a feature film (in Canada). For details please see the Associated Programmes page of the website.

I've just recieved volumes 3 & 4 on DVD. What can I say... bad acting, poor direction, dreadful scripts - Great stuff! hope they release the final 1971 series of the magnificent 6 and a half.
