At the Curves I belong to, the owner offers a senior citizens discount, or corporate rates. We just finished Food for Friends in March. The service fee was waived if people brought in a big bag of groceries. The $39 a month is on a month to month thing. I joined on the 12 month check draft and only pay $29 a month. I have lost 26 pounds and am rarely ever sick. I feel better so am convinced that $29 a month is worth it for me. We tend to not do enough for ourselves. $29 a month is less than a dollar a day, and you can go in 6 times a week. I think it's pretty darn cheap. Anyway, approach the owner and see if they will work something out with you if you can't afford the service fee. If they say no, wait and join when there is a special.
