Any van can be as reliable or as unreliable as any other. A well maintained bay can be as reliable if not more reliable than a modern car - I've been driving my bay every day since Jan 05, and i've never once broken down, and never once not been able to get it started... and i've done many, many miles in it (13000 from Jan > Oct 05)

As well as that, bays are simpler mechanically - air cooled motors etc, so if things do go wrong they're easier to fix than on a '25.

Buy a nice bay, service it regularly, change the oil every 3000 miles - keep regular checks on everything else, and it won't let you down.
