The big male tested the light wind with his nose but there was no scent laden upon it to notify him of any friends. All he could smell were the slightly nerving scents of the blue foxes. But just as he sighed with sorrow, the bark from right behind made him sit up straight and the fur along his back ripple up to his ears and down again with slight shock. But then he let out a gentle sigh and turned to his back with a gentle grin on his face. He could see the beautiful deeper red vixen sitting behind him, and her words comforted him. For many days and nights he had missed her, she was such a bold vixen.
"A little surprised to see you in blue turf, Red. But glad nonetheless that you're alive. The winter's going bad further north, it’s going to be incredibly tough here. I was worried for you, and everyone else of course. But I'm alright, how have you been?" Brutas snorted softly with a grin and he stood up, his ears flickering around to check for any signs of the blue foxes, and then he stretched his nose out to Stormy, hoping she would let him snuff at her again.
