My medical problems are: (1). Sleep apnea. While going through a sleep test I quit breathing 120 times in six hours! This is a very serious disease that can, by itself, cause all sorts of medical problems.(2).Acid reflux.(3).Difficulty in swallowng.I had to have my esophogus stretched in order to avoid choking!(4).Pneumonia. I contracted two cases of it when I returned home.Have'nt had it since but it seems like I am constantly coughing up phlem.(5).It seems that My throat gets hoarse if I speak for a few minutes. And I can,t seem to keep it clear.(6).At age 45 I ahd a triple-by-pass heart surgery. I don,t know if these problems are connected to Malathion but it does make wonder! Thank you for taking time to inform us of this. Ruben C. Date Posted: 02:16:26 10/19/02 Sat I was stationed at Udorn in 72-73. I worked in preload there at the end of the flight line. We setup the frag for the F4's (bombs and rockets). I saw you guys a lot walking around with your dogs. Do you remember next to preload there was a tub filled with something that was a green thick liquid. Everyone, on their last day, would be carried (unwillingly) and dumped into that tub. No one excaped, not even me. I have health problems and was wondering if I was exposed to something. Jim |

Date Posted: 19:29:52 11/04/02 Mon >>I was with the 432nd K-9 section in 1972. I remeber dipping some of the dogs at least 2-3 times and yes, I got a bath each time. I am currently in the Air Guard, ready to retire in a few months. About 4 months ago I woke up with a righr arm/shoulder pain and ever since then I have a hard time getting in/out of the SP trucks, doing pushups and lifting more than 20 lbs. The MD who did my Medical Evaluation Board paperwork (I also am a type 2 diabetic) said it nothing "major" and that's where it is at. I am now awaiting a decision from Randolph AFB MEB as to whether I will stay until my 1 Oct 03 retirement date or if I will retire before that. I have unexplained limited range of motion with my neck, and none of these symptoms may be connected to malathion, but then, who knows. I am getting ready to go to the publisher with a book about the 432nd K-9 corps, and maybe the dips should be included in the book? I have no photographs and if anyone can mail me the hard copies would be appreciated . After all, what's a book without photos? |
