Subject: Looking for Mike 3/1 Vets 70 - 71

Hey,

I'm looking to correspond with any of the guys I served with in Mike 3/1 RVN during 1970 to the pullout in 1971: Hills 37 and 55; CUPP Unit in Dai Loc; Operations LAM SON 719 and SCOTT ORCHARD.

My CO was 1st Lt. Bob Harmon from Arkansas. I remember Corporal Barfield, Ed (Blooperman) Wood, Barko, Boggs, "Ho Chi", Frank "ARVN" Kuffel, "Lurch", Danny "Jake" Jacobs, and others. Only 3/1 vet I've heard from so far is Randy Jarrell. Glad to see he's still up and firing on both cylinders; hope the rest of you are, too. Don't want nothing; just want to rap about old times and wish you guys well.

Did a bunch of things after coming home: got into sport parachuting and jumped with the people who invented CRW; became a jumpmaster. Used my GI Bill to become a commercial pilot and flight instructor; hauled skydivers and did various flight ops for several years. Went through a biker transition and still have the same 66 Harley I've ridden for the past 28 years. Got into inventive technologies and built a submarine. Moved to Hawaii and became an officer of the State. Presently working in Public Safety and working with underwater technologies as a hobby. Happily married to the same wonderful lady who had the guts to stay with me for 23 years now; I owe it all to her.

I've got a website about my projects with homebuilt submarines and diving equipment, and another one that is mostly a discussion group about the same thing. Check 'em out, and feel free to participate:
