Subject: Shirley G. Merritt, Jr.

Hello,
My name is Kate DePorter and my father Shirley G. Merritt, Jr. served with Kilo 3/1 from 1968-1969. On March 2 of this year, my dad passed away after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. I am finally on here to write to all of you and thank you for being such good friends and brothers to my dad. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't mention all of you, or at least think about you. I want to invite you to legacy.com to share a memory or two about Dad. His guest book is on there for a year now, a wonderful friend sponsored it so we can all share stories and remember "Pack-Rat" for the man, soldier, father, grandfather, and friend that he was to all. Thank you so much and have a nice day.
