Subject: Crow's Nest '69 - '70

I served with the 633rd CC&S (Army) at the foot of Crow's Nest in 1969 and '70. I left for 3 months in mid '69 and when I came back the 106 on Crow's nest was gone. I am writing a book about the area and am looking for information about how and when the 106 got thrown over.
I'm also interested in a couple of other incidents that occurred outside the 633rd perimeter (bordering Nui Kim Son)during that time. One incident involved a firefight outside the compound where it is said that a Marine Squad was under fire, and one of our guys just happened to be there, ran out the gate like some kind of Rambo and lobbed M79 rounds to end the fight (truth or fiction??).
The other involved 2 Marine LPs set up outside Nui Kim Son. The story goes that the LPs got a little too noisy, didn't know of the other's position, thinking it was VC, opened fire on each other. Again, I don;t know if that is truth or fiction, but am looking for credible info on those events. I would be forever grateful. From an Army buddy!
