I WAS THERE WITH INDIA COMPANY THIRD BATTALLION IST MARINES.WE FLEW IN ON A BALD REACTIONARY FORCE TO HELP MIKE CO.3/1.WHEN WE FLEW IN MIKE CO. WAS PINNED DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RICE PATTIE IN THE CENTER OF THE HAMLET.WE RECEIVED FIERCE INCOIMING FIRE WHILE LANDING IN THE MAIN RICE PATTIE NEXT TO MIKE CO.WE RAN AROUND THE VILLE WERE MIKE WAS PINNED DOWN,I GOT MY PLATOON ON LINE AND WE ASSAULTED THE VILLAGE WITH THE NVA REGT.ENTRENCHED, AND WITH FIERCE AUTOMATIC WEAPONS, AND SPIDER HOLES EVERY THREE FEET WITH GOOKS,DINKS POPPING UP AND SPRAYING US WITH AUTO FIRE.WE TOOK MANY CASUALTIES THAT NIGHT.WE GOT OVER RUN AND FOUGHT HAND TO HAND COMBAT AND WAS MORTERED ALL NIGHT.MY CO HAD TO HAVE OUR OWN 455'S FIRE DIRECTELY ON OUR C.P.WE LOST ALOT OF GOOD GUYS THAT NIGHT.[MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON THERE SOULS].SEMPER-FI>Marine Vietnam vet an author wants to make contact
