First, the first guy says something idiotic and then you agree with him. I love how he says that we're too simplistic and shallow to appreciate genius. I guess that made you, Resa, want to jump up in agreement with him so that you would not be confused with simplistic and shallow. Perhaps his post was the only one simplistic enough for you to be able to understand enough to comment on, but just to claify-

No one has said anything even remotely indicating that Baraka should not have had the right to write the thing. No one wants to stop him from writing. I do agree that the most effective art is often controversial, however that doesn't make it any good, just effective in stirring up shit. Well, so was Temptation Island and I certainly wouldn't call that good art.

This is the same reason people listen to Black Sabbath even though they suck. Don't be a rebel without a cause. Don't rebel for rebelling's sake. Think for yourself and analyze the piece and come back here with a real argument about why this poem is worth a shit. And don't dare come back with an agrument about free speech and expression. For the thousandth time, I agree that he should have been able to write it. And I don't want an argument about why I am unable to appreciate the genius. I want to know why anyone thinks it's any good. Show me the genius, cause I've read this poem probably 100 times now and I still don't see it. It still looks like simplistic informal rhyming contradictory inconsistent paranoid racist garbage to me.
