Subject: the new board

Hey there. I think I like this board better. It seems more straight-forward and I'm super glad you found one where you could customize the look.

I would like to comment on the discussion started on the previous board about the impending collapse of the American government.

I, as much as your next poet, believe that we are all doomed, however I'm not so sure that the American government as we know it is on the way out just yet. History shows us that while all great empires do collapse, they generally last longer than the less than 200 years that the American empire has been around. I think, if anything, we will see a return to a more liberated society, as America was originally intended to be. I think the recent rise in Libertarians indicates this turn towards smaller federal government. While this could be interpretted as a collapse of American government, it should be viewed as a strenghtening, as it would be a return to the true intent of America's founding fathers.

Incidentally, I am not a Libertarian. I happen to be almost socialist (at least this week), but I think that it is clear the the original intent for America was that it be less federally ruled and therefore a decrease in federal government would actually be more American.
