Subject: A Quest To Follow

Now, I wonder if anyone out the has notice this, in every civilization and culture exists ghost stories or some sort of demonic entity of the paranormal. This is indeed a phenomenon by itself. Ranging from the ancient Egyptians, Chinese, African Tribes, even to the Eskimos in the icy regions of the artic. Historians have perceive these mythologies as means of social control used by priests or tribal men to uphold and protect their positions and social order. By placing oneself as mystical or placing a place a haunted, aids in instilling fear and when the rumours spread, so does fear and anxiety, thus a simply story turns into legend and accepted as truth.
However, come to it, can this explanation be used for all the civilizations? How could differing civilizations separated by geography, sociology, and time line have the same idea of ghosts and such entities. If the argument of the Bible is used here, (note that Christians argue that the bible is from God because it is inspired through the Holy Spirit regardless of time and place, thus enabling the Holy Bible to pass down through generations virtually unchanged.) Ghosts do exists on this dimension of ours. Of course I mean no disrespect and humbly accept and harsh comments if so fit on my unwise comment above.
If ghosts truly existed, There are surely signs of their existence, and therefore can be scientifically proven. I believe, instead of discussion on ghost stories, we should be more constructive in this matter and be open to all considerations. In science, protoplasmic entities (ghosts) are considered a sort of humorous joke. Yet, though it cannot be proven theoretically, it is still not yet unfounded completely.
I urge that groups such as this would break the ice for research to be done in this field to at least open a dimension on our collection of human knowledge. “For to know our place, we must also know the place of others.” Indeed, being assured of the existence of the supernatural, we would have better understanding of our position in the spectrum of creation.
I suspect two factions would form from reading this, one positive and the other negative. The negative factions would believe that this pursuit is senseless well I do agree with you in some parts. But I do let curiosity drive me in this quest. If you are in the positive, you might approach this in the scientific group or the open-minded group. No matter, both groups are important to sustain a balance between fantasy, imagination and reality, logic.
Yet, there is definitely a risk that this may turn out to be a wild goose chase after all. But at least one who takes the plunge would only know how deep the water is.
