He stands near his cart where necklaces hang. Business hasn't been good, and the men are soon to leave to go trade goods in South America. He mumbles as he watches the amber waves, sighing. He had heard the stories of the sea from the sailors, about seeing whales in Alaska, exotic plants in the rainforests...but what most intrigued Jerran was the stories of the mermaids. Many of the men would try to kill them as if they were monsters, but Jerran wanted to get to know one. They were said to be beautiful, and he had never loved a woman before...
