$1.30 increase in prescriptions due to tax by state. Some pharmacies are absorbing the tax and others are passing it on to the consumer. CVS will make you pay...Brooks is absorbing the tax so you still pay $3 & $4 per prescription. We are looking into seeing if the our membership should have to pay the tax which increases our co-pay to $4.30 and $5.30.

Medical Examinations have been arranged through the Union by an epedemiologist in Boston. If anyone is feeling ill due to a job related exposure (emergency or non-emergency) they should contact a Union Rep.

Per request the Tunnel Team participants may be receiving part of their overtime pay in the form of a stipend if it can be worked out with the employer. Stipens benefit the membership in retirement because it will affect their retirement pay. Standard overtime does not. The stipend portion would be the portion of minimum required training to maintain their status on the tunnel team. Anything over and above that would be payed in the usual manner.

This is extremely preliminary...

The Union has approved the purchase of 10 (TEN) advertisements for the SERTA bus system utilized throughout the city. The cost is $600 for 3 months. We will be utilizing the advertisement space to voice our concern over the staffing crisis.

Jack also looked into a Herald news advertisement and the cost was $800-$900 for 1 (one) day. So the obvious choice is SERTA.

Reports that the holiday overtime lists are all screwed up.........once you sign on to work an overtime your name is apparently signed in stone. We are having the lawyer rectify this situation. Anybody who has been having this problem please contact a President Camara.
******************

NFPA has reprimanded David Hague. The IAFF and President Camara are still pursuing this issue.
******************

The Local has decided to reach out to non-incumbents to try to get some support on the City Council. Currently we are consistently opposed by a 5-4 majority vote. It is important that we overthrow atleast one of Mayor Lambert's puppets so that we can atleast have a fighting chance in regards to our issues.
*******************

We will be working on some sort of protest for the State of the City Address. A tentative date of 1/28 has been heard.
********************

All personal days not received will be paid in full with no limit or cap as to how many you can cash in at the end of your career. So keep track of your personal days owed.
