a great day at Rex Jackson on sunday afternoon saw clear skies and a light SSW breeze.
what i consider to be the match of the round occured yesterday with the coming together of two of the games most colourful mascots in the Tigers Jarrod "giant head" Watto (upgraded from big head because of his massive jason cayless hairstyle) and Jarrod "fore-arms of steel and biceps of cheese" Woodforde.
the game started at a furious pace with bruising defence and blistering attack from both sides some of the forwards clashes between the likes of Chad "I dont know how to tackle any lower than the teeth" Brustolin up against the likes of Rodney " calves the size of spaghetti" Morris.
the burgh took an early lead with a couple of quick tries, but it wasnt long till the books slipped through some weak blind side defence with a well timed kick to waltz in under the post.
the tigers went to half time with a healthy lead, but must have thought that they didnt have to play the second half, with Uni scoring in the first set from the kick off, and then again shortly after, this put the gap back to four points.
the burgh boys woke up and struck back with another classy try to kick away but it wasnt enough with the books coming home with a wet sail to get the cash on the bell.
The clashes were not limited to just the big men, with a first class "Ding Dong" between the fullbacks Matt " my hair piece reflects my name" Tope and Logan " i tape up my sleeves to show my massive canons" Johnstone
all in all a great afternoon of football.
