With the numbers Port attract to their games on Sundays it would be insane to move them. Different clubs like playing at different times for different reasons. Uni prefer Saturday games because it suits their players, many of whom come from Sydney. Port obviously benefit from playing on Sundays, which have been traditionally the day when most league fans will turn out. When the ABC used to televise the saturday game, teams were compensated with $10 000 to cover the gap between what they would have drawn on the Sunday, so poor were numbers on saturday, even at NSWRL level.
