Subject: Had a fun evening

Just got home from a really lovely Christmas Revue -- put on by our Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (Riverbank) players. They are really very good. Good clean comedy, many wonderful Christmas carols, and a feast like never before! It was wonderful.

They cater to those offices that are too small to make a party evening. Many offices combine to enjoy the banquet and then entertainment.

An incredible baratone sang a lovely song about Virgin Mary asking for some cherries because she was with child. Joseph was angry and said Let the father of your child get you the cherries. Jesus, from the womb, asks His Father to bend the cherry bough so His mother can have the cherries. The highest bough then bends to her hand. It was a song that held us spellbound. Have any of you ever heard it? The singer said he had sung it as a child every year in their family worship.

I am weary but it was a great evening. Wednesday I attended young Christopher's concert. He is 5 and a shepherd. The shepherd beside his cradled her arms and rocked throughout the Away In The Manger song. She bent over, lower and lower and became more energetic in her rocking, when she noticed Christopher standing with his hands at his side. Disgusted, she stomped with exasperation, grabbed his hands and forced him to cradle and rock the baby!

It was a priceless presentation!

Love, Merilyn
