Subject: A little about me !

I have met Barb and Merilyn - through email - and I also "stumbled" across Linda - do you remember - Linda ?
Herbert (my dad) and Cassie Smalley Macdonals were brother and sister - dad being 7 years younger than Cassie - then Ernest was younger than Dad.
I am from Dad's second marriage - his first wife - Mary Kilpatrick - died in child birth - and shortly after that Eva 2 yr. old died. Dad had Norma (the infant) Maddy about 4 and Herbert about 6. Dad came to USA - met mom who had just arrived from Sweden - and was teaching at the Cranbrook Institute of Arts and Science. They married and had Ivan, me (Vera), Dick and Ray. I was born in Pontiac, Michigan. We all moved to Chicago - and Wilmette - a suburb of Chicago. Some time when I was very young we lived in Maine and Woodstock, N.B.. I don't have the dates or much info on those times. If anyone knows anything about my past - I would appreciate learning it.
We visited the Smalley farm and MacDonald farm just about every summer - throughout my childhood.
Jim and I live In Roseville - a suburb of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. We have 3 children - 8 grandchildren - 2 great grandchildren.
We have been to India twice on a missions team - we being the musical part - Jim plays sax I play piano and we sing. We visited colleges- schools played for banquets - many places in India. We do the same here in the states.
We have been to Euraope several times - once to northern Sweden where mom was born and raised until she was about 27 years old.
I must let you run and get a drink of water - and take a deep breath -- will continue later -- I would love to hear from all of you.
The last time we were in N.B. was two years ago - visiting Norma - in Fredericton. We have been to Alberta visiting Maddy and Don - and family twice - within the last 2- 3 years.
I am so happy to get to know some more of my relatives -- I will be looking forward to reading more posts from all of you. It's so good to have you all in my life.
