I'm from NW Saskatchewan and I can tell you that April-May is too late up here. I found 90% of my sheds in Feb last year. There are getting to be quite a few shed hunters so it pays to get out early. I think that there are some landowners that would graciously give you permission to look for sheds, they just puncture tractor tires, though they may look at you as though you are nuts, after all you travelled up here just to walk around and look for what many of them consider a nuisance. Then there are the ones who know antlers are worth some $$ now and may expect some $$ in return for you looking on their property. Unfortunately some of these people don't look themselves, but don't want anyone else to benefit either. There are many landowners who do look for themselves. There is alot of crown land in Sask, which likely doesn't get searched too greatly, the downside is the enormousness of our forests and I wouldn't know where to begin looking for sheds. I'd tell you where I am in Sask but I found some whopper sheds last year and I'm hoping I'm the only one looking around here this year, lol!! Best of luck
