I suffer a great deal from depression and find that intelligent conversation has always provided far better relief for it than any drugs or psychological intervention/therapy. I think this is due to the fact that one is engaged and stimulated during such conversation, and that this causes all other problems to be forgotten for a while. I am a keen bushwalker, but when walking (usually alone), can still feel lonely and very depressed despite the exercise and wonderful scenery.

The subject matter of the conversation is largely unimportant. It just needs to be lively and thought-provoking, with a large element of understanding between the people.

Unfortunately, such conversation seems hard to come by. Is there any good forum in which it can be readily accessed?
