ARW-"well as u know I had a lot of Love for Real but the chairman and I didn't get on well at all it was the distinct lack of post season money to strengthen the side" GDL-"why AC Milan?" ARW-"Quite simple really they are one of 5 sides to win the European cup more than 5 times (others-AJAX, Real, liverpool, bayern) and we had good connection with another of those clubs (AJAX) but it was more than that it was the history the atmosphere the fact that every year Milan go out to win every competition they enter" GDL-"you have already been in transfer activities with you’re old club haven’t you” ARW-“yes that’s true they signed Costa off us today he hadn’t quite settled into our formation and we were aware that Real were fans of the player and when they made the interest official it was only a matter of time before the deal was arranged Costa has always been playing in Italy with his mind in Madrid he hated being played as centre midfielder not a playmaker so when Real offered him the chance he accepted the key to the deal was Cambiasso and Solari they are both extremely versatile which is what we wanted out of Costa but never got” GDL-“what do you think of the Inter Real Guti deal?” ARW-“quite frankly Real are acting like spoilt child’s they wont play Guti but wont let anyone else have the chance to play him they cannot ask such an appalling amount for a player they never use it would be like us buying a player never letting him play and then when someone wants to buy him charging double he’s worth it’s ridiculous” GDL-“ok now we’ve heard that you are in negotiation with AJAX over a double swoop for Chivu (94) and Van der Vaart(94) is this true ARW-“we have made the inquiry but nothing more we know that they want Brochi as part of the Van der Vaart deal and they want at least 13.5 for Chivu” GDL-“is it likely you’ll get these deals done soon” ARW-“it all depends on the players of Ajax and the chairman of AC really” GDL-“so you hope to sign them?” ARW-“who wouldn’t?” GDL-“one last thing do you feel you have a chance to win this year” ARW-“well with the signings we’ve made I don’t see why not but it all depends on weather we gel on the pitch” GDL-“thank you for the interview and good luck.” [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ]
