Subject: GPS coordinates of Owls Head?

Early peakbaggers sometimes had trouble finding the summit of Owls Head, and before the trail was built they sometimes hiked the whole N-S length of the ridge to be sure they bagged it somewhere. In her book Give Me The Hills, Miriam Underhill recounts a winter trip where they went beyond the marked summit and found a higher point with good views R (see photo in her book). The AMC 4000-footer club grandfathered previous ascents and supposedly moved the summit marker, but a recent post to Views From The Top

http://www.viewsfromthetop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3232

provides a track log that shows the trail does not reach the 4025 point

Anybody else have a GPS point at the cairn? Anybody bushwhack N and compare elevations?
