Children across Africa
no longer alone but
united in their teams
slowly learn to smile
for a moment forget
the pain in their lives
the hunger
their bereavement.

Once more they play
like children should
without a care
other than scoring
that all important goal
now that they have
real leather footballs

My name is Stephen Hamilton Nicol. I am the founder of the K.I.C.K. organization...KIDS In need of CARE & KIT.

I am sickened by the poverty in the rural and deprived areas of one of the most beautiful lands on this planet AFRICA. There Kids have very little food if any, poor schooling and live in environments ripped by war and corruption. My motive is nothing Political, I have no knowledge, nor am I even qualified to do or say anything about the subject of Politics. My ONE and basic aim is to clothe and put a shirt on the backs of these Children. FOOTBALL (or Soccer as our American Brothers and Sisters call it) is massive in the African continent. Sports shoes and Sports clothing is one of the most profitable and famous business in our Western World, Kids all over Europe, the States and North America are enriched by quality Sports shoes and clothing and often grow out of them in terms of size and monthly changeable fashion incorporated by firms like NIKE, ADIDAS and REEBOK (to mention but a few).

Where do your Kids clothing go after outgrowing them? What about those unwanted Sports shoes that are no longer the latest "dig" in the Schools and playgrounds. There are Kids in African colonies that would be absolutely delighted to own a pair of second hand NIKES. At the bottom of your cupboard (closet for American soul mates) you will have T-shirts and Sportswear you donīt even need, want or even fit into no more. I know millions of Kids that could fit into them no problem. I started K.I.C.K after helping out African refugees in war torn regions and I discovered a bright and brilliant young Footballer who had never even kicked a real ball in his life (and he was 22). I trained him with the right Football shoes and real leather Soccerball and he now plays in the lower leagues in Germany. I continued to help and now after Worldwide media coverage my organization K.I.C.K has elevated and now we can help more Kids. My aim is to clothe Kids, put bright colours of all teams in the World, put shoes on their feet, integrate them and bond their communities by playing organized Soccer...by this I will raise awareness for the other crucial aids such as Food, medicine and education. I started off by sending real leather Soccer balls to Gambia and now my dream has begun...I am to finish what I started.

I have organizations such as F.I.F.A (the govern body of Football around the World) and many famous International Soccer stars getting involved in K.I.C.K.

K.I.C.K. will be responsible for clothing these Kids and I hope one day that they can play safely in their streets like our Children here in the Western World. Do you know what a Football shirt on a poor Kids back looks like, you should see their tiny faces gleeming because they have a badge and a number on their backs...they feel important, they feel identified, they feel like they are someone, BECAUSE THEY ARE SOMEONE. They are Gods Children just like your Children. I thank you for taking the time to read my words and for taking the time to read this heartfelt piece from my great friend Raphaela.
