Freeing Events



Another wasted day, possibly
'cause I feel like such a sap
of the productive kind, mayhap
flowing from Maple Trees,
except this tree, is yet, to be tapped.

Rooted so strongly in dirt
can't change my position, even to flirt
with ideas to transform my wood, into a boat
sailing the river, that on, I long to float.

The river ever so close to me
once clean, ah but the litter I see,
amongst the liquid beauty rippling
over pebbles on sand, towards the sea
pensive, while a sweet song of gurgling.

Do I give up the leaves too easily
exposing myself to the winter cold so verily?
Is my trunk too hard to relinquish a hole, in its bark,
allowing my soft center, to course it's mark?

Is it here I stay, until I wither and die?
Or from a distance, will someone ride
coming to me, seeing to prune my limbs,
tapping my source, letting the sweetness climb
from inner syrup, for my talents
to sap their course .. freeing events.

I've just got back online, after
what seems like forever,
not even sure how many weeks?:-( 3?:-o
Very slow but seems to be more
"flintstone'putor" stable.
Hi to everyone, will take me
a long while to catch up on e/mail
and boards! Also to read & make comments
on your poems that I so love to do,
plus I'm on my
way for my 12 hr. commute & workday.
