Well you might just find this funny, it was my first ever poem that I ever did...25th November 1999. It is the way I see Television...I have Trash TV (cable version) Trash TV (late at night) Trash TV (pay per view) and many others...
Flick the switch or pull that plug but get away from that set...it will give you nothing (unless you happen to be like me in the way that I watch nature/history/CNN programmes.)
"I know, I know this piece is junk but it is kinda humourous in the fact that it was my first attempt at poetry."
TRASH TV
by Stephen Hamilton Nicol
Television
a square metre of electrifying trash
animal slaying
70´s cop shows I prefer not to remember
corny white toothed smiles trying desparately to draw out all your hard earned cash
the news a repeat
as another Middle East soldier retreats
and a puny pop presenter hypes his prediction of a next big smash
Television
a square metre of electrifying trash
film scripts the same
yet another San Francisco Police car screeches thru a one way lane
crashing thru cardboard boxing with nothing in it
why they are forever puting a handicapped kid in a school sports day race
and slow motionly make him win it
scenes made thousands of times for the camera
a pretty NBC broadcaster jostles for an interview with the acquitted
outside another long and boring courtroom drama
