waking up next to you
could I know what it’s like?
ominous are my days
oh your dark was my light

to my world you shone through
your shadow of intrigue
you were just there for me
like white wine you’re my greed

appeared on my horizon
digitally mastered
i invented you there
you never lasted

making no sense to me
your image still lives on
turned the page yesterday
last chapter written wrong

why did you walk away
wasn’t it meant to be
i thought one size fit all
i was too small to see

and so you left me there
safety with no concern
party fools’ paradise
passed out and left to learn

but learn i’ll never do
i can’t grasp that concept
fell asleep next to you
i guess that’s when you left
