I never saw it coming, it won’t be the same
To make someone angry, and I am to blame
Took me by surprise, and too blind to see
Why it all happened, to someone like me

While at the computer, I was ‘talking’ online
Her words came onscreen, a person so fine
She needed response, and came to inquire
Too busy I was, and she was on fire

It’s been seven days, when I wrote “Silent Pain”
The hurt that I felt, in my head it remains
She helped me online, indeed a true friend
However this friendship, is likely to end

Am I being foolish, and badly mistaken
To spout off and say, this friendship’s forsaken
I love to write poems, for that I’ll admit
I have written letters, to say I may quit

Never dawned on me, my manner was curt
A beautiful person, whose feelings I hurt
She will recover, from this dreadful phase
Her smile will shine, like bright sunny days

I’m recalling this scene, a shock without warning
As I sit here in silence, at two in the morning
I may lose a friend, from this sad reprieve
Time to take action, perhaps I should leave.
