Deserted shore



When I awoke,
to a feeling,
of an emptiness inside,
you had gone,
with the moonlight,
leaving tears in my eyes.

When I walked,
a little further,
down a beach it felt so strange,
lost my voice,
in the sea-spray,
watched the stones get rearranged.

Later on,
in the evening,
too few drinks to sooth my brain,
like the day,
lost before me,
water gone cannot be claimed.

After pain,
comes believing,
in some hope of other days,
released the hand,
talked in silence,
filled the hours in other ways.
