Settings: This story takes place the day after Ethan kissed Theresa on the wharf
Chapters 1 – 3: “You Are Mine”

"Whitney, I can't believe Ethan kissed me. It was wonderful.” Theresa said twirling around. “I thought I would faint right there on the wharf."
“Theresa, you’re playing with fire. I think you should leave Ethan alone so he can be with Gwen." Whitney begged her friend.
"Whit, I can't believe you. You have been my best friend since Kindergarten. I thought if anyone would understand my feelings, it would be you." She said now looking disappointed.
"I do understand. I understand that you are playing with fire. And Gwen is not to be played with. She loves Ethan, and she will do whatever it takes to keep him."
"All's fair in love and war, and I'm not about to give up now that I think I have a chance." Theresa continued.
Whitney turned away from Theresa and spoke softly. “Well, I guess I'll be there for you when your world comes crashing down."
"Oh Whit, don't worry.” Theresa said placing an arm around her long time friend. “Fate is on my side. Now that I know that Ethan has some type of feelings for me, there is no way I could lose. If he didn't have feelings for me, he wouldn't have kissed me so passionately, so tenderly. I love him now more than ever, and I vow that one-day, I WILL be Mrs. Ethan Crane. Just wait.”

At the Crane Mansion

Julian looked at his son with a devious smile on his lips.
"So, Ethan my boy, have you given any thought about bedding that voluptuous Theresa Lopez Fitzgerald?"
"Father; please do not start with me again about that. I still can't believe you crawled into bed with her, while in Bermuda." Ethan said fixing himself a brandy.
"And yes son, you were there to defend her honor. Mighty special for a man who has no feelings for that sexy little number."
"I wish you wouldn't reply to Theresa as a number. She is a very intelligent, smart, and lovely girl."
Julian closed his eyes, and remembered that night in Bermuda.
"Yes, and those eyes... Ahhh, a man could lose himself in them. And that Body! Ohh..."
"O.K. father that's enough. I think I'll call Gwen, and see when she's coming home." He said placing his glass down, and grabbing for his cell.
"Yes boy, you do that. Call her to get your mind off the housekeeper’s daughter."
"Father!!" Ethan said leaving the room.

"Whitney, what are you doing tonight?"
"My dad and I are practicing at the tennis court. I have a match coming up and my game has been off lately."
Theresa gave her a sly smile. "I wonder if it has something to do with Chad Harris."
"O.K. Theresa, don't start in on me again about Chad. I do not have feelings for him. Besides if I did, I couldn't act on them. My mom has made it very clear, that Simone and I are to stay away from him."
"Oh poor Whitney. You're just gonna let love pass you by."
"No I won't. It's just I have my priorities in the right place. There will be plenty of time for romance when the time is right."
"You just keep telling yourself that Whit, and just let Chad find love with someone else. And then we'll see how you feel about love. When it's too LATE!"
"Theresa!" Whitney said with a sadness in her eyes, as well as her voice.
"NO Whitney. I don't want to see my friend lose this special chance at a love that can be so great, and full of passion."
"I'm sorry Theresa, I just don't think like that."
"Well girl friend you should. Chad is a great guy and a great catch. And I'm not gone let some other girl catch him."
"What do you mean Theresa? You are not going to do something crazy are you?" Whitney said now looking rather worried.
"Don't worry about it Whitney. You just wait and see what fate has in store for my very best friend."
"Whatever Theresa. What are you doing tonight?"
"I called Chuck last night to see if we could see each other
Tonight."
"Wow! you mean you’re going to forget about Ethan?"
"Whitney please, this is war. And Chuck is going to help me with my plan." She said with a sly look in her eyes.
"Theresa what do you have stirring in that head of yours?"
"You just wait and see. If Ethan needs help admitting his feelings for me, what better way to help, but with a little bit of jealousy."
"Theresa, I can't believe you are doing this. You are just going to get your feelings hurt again."
"Nope, I don't think so. Ethan is meant to be with me and only me. And I will not let Gwen, Luis, or anyone stand in my way. And that's a promise."

At the Crane Mansion

"Hi darling, It's so good to hear your voice." (Gwen said, on the other line.) "What a nice surprise."
"Gwen I miss you so much. I wish you were here with me. I don't know how much more of this I can take."
"Oh, Ethan. It's so nice to know you miss me and want me there. And I will be soon as I finish this project my dad and I are working on. You will be so proud of the progress I’ve completed."
"I know I will Gwen. It's just so hard to be here and you're there."
"Ethan, it sounds like you want me there to take your mind off something else. Is something wrong?"
( Ethan's mind quickly thinks about the passionate kiss him and Theresa shared just the night before. Then his mind goes to Bermuda when he and Theresa danced, and how her perfume was so intoxicating. How he longed to be with her in so many ways.)
"Ethan, are you there?"
"Oh, yes Gwen, I'm O.K. I'm just lost without you. I can't think straight. My mind is not on my work, and our friends want us to check out this new restaurant that just opened uptown."
"Oh darling, I know it's hard right now, but just focus on our wedding night. That's what's getting me through this. Thinking about our honeymoon in Bermuda. Thinking of Bermuda, why don't you take Theresa to the new restaurant tonight. I'm sure she would love it."
"I want to go there for the first time with the woman I love, and no one else."
(Ethan's mind thinks about the plane ride to Bermuda, and how Theresa thanks him for showing her so many first time moments)
"O.K. Ethan, fair enough. People are probably saying how crazy I am for letting my handsome fiancé spend so much time with such a pretty girl. But I trust you darling. And I trust Theresa also. She has done so much for our wedding, that it's hard to find a way to thank her."
"I'm sure we'll think of something."
"You're right. Why don't you take your Aunt Sheridan, or your father to the new restaurant and call me tomorrow and let me know how you liked it. O.K.? I have to go now. I love you."
"I love you too Gwen. Bye." But Gwen had already hung up before I love you came out of Ethan's mouth.

"Thank you Chuck, I'll see you tonight." Theresa hangs up the phone.
"Now, to set my plan in motion. Watch out Ethan, here comes fate."
