Gingerly the colt backs away from the path the mare had taken, though his mind and heart cries for him to follow her, to make amends. But the colt is pushed away, torn onto another path that also leads out of the territory. And suddenly Arvad recognizes the invisible force pulling and pushing him from one territory into another to be separate from him: an outside influence that persists uncaringly. What does it care for such petty things as family feuds? There is a task that must be finished, and so it will be no matter what. So the colt leaves, his head down as he surrenders to the force that he cannot name.
