The movement gave him enough momentum to free himself from her dominent position, and he immediately flew to his feet, bumping Brushy harshly. His eyes flew wide and he skittered away from his mother, slamming into Medusa in his flight.


Her boy's obvious fear of her registered only vaugly. Slowly, and as deliberately as a plow horse, she turned away from his wide-eyed terror and informed the stallion and mare, "I'm going to go for a little walk." Without waiting for a response, she plodded slowly off toward the hot spring.
