Hiya Bill,

We meet in Looe, Cornwall this coming weekend (8-10 Nov). We will be staying in a small and friendly hotel which we have completely to ourselves for the whole event. I forget the name of the hotel at the moment and can't look it up as I am at work at present, but if you require the name, please email me and I will send it through to you this evening.

People start arriving on Friday evening from about 6pm onwards and depart on the Sunday afternoon after lunch.

The cost of the weekend depends on the number of pipers attending, but is generally around the £90-100 mark. This fee covers your accomodation in the hotel, all meals (apart from Saturday lunch when we go for a pub lunch in the town) and tuition in piping and reedmaking...pretty good value :)

There are opportunities for formal piping and tuition as well as informal playing. There is a bar, and we pretty much all enjoy a few pints. The atmosphere is extremely friendly, and everyone seems to have a great time.

As you will know from the website, we are lucky enough to have Tommy Martin as our guest piper this year. We are also fortunate in having Alan Burton as our reed professor.

Please mail me at webmaster@swaup.org if you have any more questions and I will reply tonight. Finally though, if you want to come along to the weekend, feel free to do so..we would be glad to see you.

All the best,

Steve
