Date Posted: 09:49:43 01/13/05 Thu I am trying the 10 day free trial they are having and I have to say, its awsome. The graphics are amazing first off, but you have total customability of your ship as well. Also, you gain levels in the piloting skills through doing quest along with exp. So, you do quest to open all the bottem skills, then get exp to get the skills, then quest to open the second row, and so on. I like the system. Also, the combat is actually really fun, its pretty fast paced and has little rpg element to it, so its alot funner shooting up imperials and pirates and stuff to level than it is to grind on baz nitches. Probably the thing I like most is the total customability of the ships. You can change the engine, reactor, armor types, shielding, boosters, weapons, etc. And the npc's in space drop parts alot too and they are actually useful parts, and sometimes better than shipwright's make them. Use of the parts depend on your skills. Higher piloting skills mean better parts. So you between getting loot and leveling, you are constantly upgrading your ship. And the differences when you upgrade are noticeable too. The ships get cool too because you can have a different weapon for each pair of guns. The ship I have now has 3 sets of guns and it looks awsome when I single fire them, they shoot like crazy. Hitting a ship with no shielding looks like fireworks. It reminds me of an old game called privateer. The only thing I have found annoying is that too get to the third row of skills, you have to talk to a pilot inside of a theme park. If your a rebel, its a rebel theme park. This isn't a problem for imp or rebel, just privateer, which im playing, because its inside jabba's palace, and to get in jabba's palace you have to do his stupid missions. And on a new trial accounts where you start with nothing and have to work up to being able to kill several k's worth of life tuskens, its annoying. Other than that, I think the space expansion is awsome. Nothing else is wrong with it. And playing with a wingman is double fun, especially doing quest. Id recommend you at least try it.
