well, first of all, people in the street will LOOK at you two. If you can stand the gossip behind you and the pressure, that's fine. Make sure that the CD person is not trying to take you as 'her' bf or partner, otherwise, this is not good at all.
My ex was once a CD and our relationship is always under pressure. Eventually a scientic change took place and we are now living separate lives. Friends, this is not a good experience, don't every try to develop romance of any kind with people who you are not prepared with - CD, les or gay.
