![]() Once upon a time, there was only one type of herd. A monarchy. The Crown was passed down through the sons of the kings, and there was no disputing the king's absolute power. This system worked pretty well, as most horses didn't think too much on their situation. But eventually some equines grew far too wise, and they decided to rebel. They lashed out, slandering at the kings, and fled their cadres to create their own system. A sort of Aristocracy, where the strongest and wisest horses ruled together in a specific system. It didn't seem much different than the Monarchy at first, but the leaders began listening to their subjects and taking their opinions into consideration. It was a very free system of governing, and many horses loved it. However, the Monarchies hated it, because they were loosing horses as they grew too smart. The kings wanted to destroy the rebels and take back all their absolute power. Besides, it was traditional, dating back hundreds of years. They had blue blood, they were born of a long line of kings. Who were these peasants thinking they could just start their own herd? So you see, rivalries began. The rebels were torn down again and again, and they strike back in terrorist fashion. Wars broke out all over equine inhabited areas, and everyone was forced to choose their loyalties. In this particular area, where our story is set, one horse named Darkchylde infiltrated, seeking out an empty forest or meadow to begin a new herd. He did not work for himself, though, he was on a mission for a higher power. So he entered this land, finding it unoccupied. He claimed it then, and began to prepare for his kind to move in, to use it as relief from the lands that were being stolen from them. Of course, things never work out so easily. The Monarchies heard about this Darkchylde and his missions, and they followed him most angrily, moving one of their harems into his space in attempts to take over. The struggle now is for Darkchylde to finish his mission, and for the kings to claim their power over the rebels. As you enter this world, you are forced to choose a side. Any who does not dwell within one harem or the other is subject to attack by wolves, pumas, and bears. A horse simply cannot live alone. Thus, you must choose to rebel with the side of Chaos, or stick with the traditional methods of Order. http://www.boomspeed.com/gdreamscape/index.html Graphite Dreamscape |
