The JA are coming it a bit here.

Let's just do the maths. It costs £1 for a loaf of good quality wholemeal bread. A pot of jam costs about 70p, lovely homemade stuff made from the fruit in the JA fields costs even less. Yeast extract, peanut butter, a few slices of cucumber or tamato, cheese. There are about 20 slices in a loaf of bread, so I reckon you can make 10 man sized double sarnies for about £2, that's 20p per head. A cup of home made soup, that's about 20p, a cup of tea, the cost of milk, teabag and sugar, lets call it 10p. That works out at 50p per head. So £100 per day would feed about 200 people.

Now, I remember that when I was in the JA those who were living in the community had to give everything to the JA, and those who were committed to the JA were to give at least a tenth of their money. People who were staying with the JA had to hand over ALL their benefits money to the JA - if they were lucky they MIGHT be allowed to retain a £5 "floater".

I really do think they are coming it over this.
