Personally, I think a chinchilla would not be an ideal pet for a children's classroom. Not only are chins hard to catch, they are a fragile creature that children's hands may injure. Chinchillas are VERY succeptable to stress, and there have been instances where chins in classrooms have developed serious furchewing as a result of all the stress. On another note, would you want the all the commotion of a school when you were trying to sleep. Please reconsider getting a chin for your class and try a more kid friendly and hardy pet like a rat.
