Even Inara's suicide kit is extremely pretty and tasteful. The question is, though, why she would have one, and whether it is personal or standard issue for Companions. I lean toward personal. We don't know why she's free-lancing. Although other Companions may travel around to different planets to meet their customers, doing so on a run-down and disreputable firefly is unusual, based on the prestige that Companions have. Is there some ulterior motive? Somebody after her?

Also, we saw River 'read' Inara in OiS while she said, "I'm a big girl, just tell me". That could mean tell me whether you're attracted to me, Mal, or it could mean tell me the prognosis, Doctor. She'd been to the hospital on Persephone for her annual check-up, after all.

So, she's another one with secrets that we'll never find out about. Sigh.
