I'm not sure, because I haven't discussed this with them. but I get the feeling that a lot of people don't think much of Firefly because they expect it to be like BtVS and AtS. Beyond having high quality writing I don't see why that should necessarily be true or even if this would be a good thing. I think that Firefly will be a broader canvas than either of those shows. Buffy is the chosen one because we are all our own 'chosen ones' - we live at the center of our worlds. From another point of view - we are each individually pretty insignificant in the big picture. And this is more how I see Firefly.
