I don't know how many people come to this board just to check if anyone has added anything like I do. I think it was really brave of you to start a new topic, so I thought I'd encourage you by replying!

I think that FOX could have had a problem with the nudity. Perhaps that was even why 'Trash' was skipped over in the episode line-up. They might have had to have a 'Parent Discretion' warning before the episode, like the WB did before 'Hellbound' (or not as UPN didn't before much of Spike's appearances in S6). But let's be real here: this is *FOX* we're talking about - home of every trashy reality show that they could get their greasy hands on. They probably would have promoted the hell out of the nudity if they were at all committed to building the ratings for the show. But we all know how that story ended...

I enjoyed 'Trash.' I thought it was a worthy, light-weight heist episode which just the right sprinkling of character moments along with the general hi-larity and action. I was shocked when River revealed to Simon what she knew about Jayne's actions on Ariel. When I watched the original airings of the episodes, I got the impression that the Tams hadn't discovered his betrayal yet. I was expecting that revelation to come a ways down the road once Jayne had a chance to get really uncomfortable in the role of hero. But the show confounded my expectations by almost immediately having Simon react to this knowledge. And ever more interestingly, he didn't retaliate or get angry. I was floored by how coolly and level-headedly Simon explained the situation to Jayne. And River's parting shot! Heh.

Watching these dvds was just like being on a rollercoaster. I fell in love with this show all over again, but was forced to remember that it's over. Dead. Cancelled. That hurt a lot.
