Burns Night January 25th
A short while ago was invited to reply to the Toast " Our Lassies " and I would like to share this with you since this occasion will again be with us next week

Our Lassies

'Tis to the flowers that I liken our Lassies,
Soft to touch, Fragrant in our embrace
Speak softly of Love and they will respond.
Their feelings unfolding like the petals of a Rose
If it be tears, like dewdrops glistening on
Violets in the morning air,
To be kissed away, and so to Smile like a field
of golden daffodils.
Their Laughter like a soft the wind in a sea of
flowering grass
Shimmering in the sunlight, a Delight to be heard.
Into the evening they wend their way, perfuming
the air
As do the creamy pink flushed flowers of the
Honeysuckle,
'Tis night, and like the petals of the Rose they close
their eyes to Sleep.
They are but a Touch away.
Know in the night, in Sleeps sweet embrace we think
of You
'Tis dawn, time to awake to the Warmth of the
Morning Sun
As do the Primroses on the Loch side
Lassies, for us who Awake with you,
You are our Warmth our Love
